Zagro DJs - Khebza, Skizo and Allegro (3)Mohalenyane Phakela

HOUSE music group, Zagro Deejays, are set to invade Teyateyaneng-based lodge, Ka Pitseng, on Saturday as part of their countrywide fundraising tour.

Made up of three disc spinners, DJ Skizo, DJ Khebza and DJ Allegro, Zagro Deejays was formed by the latter two in 2004 while they were still in high school.

According to DJ Khebza, they have already performed in a number of districts, with the intention of touring the whole country. He said the tour was meant to raise funds for the production for their album which is in the works.

“We are currently on tour to raise funds for our upcoming album. We have already rocked such places as Pioneer Mall, 4Fordy, as well as Maputsoe and Mohale’s Hoek districts,” said DJ Khebza.

“Zagro Deejays will soon perform in Roma, Quthing, Qacha’s Nek and Teyateyaneng before month-end so that we can start preparing for the release of the album.”

He said their performances were also meant to give fans a glimpse of what to expect from the album, in addition to the live musical experience.

“We have incorporated the Bongo drum in our performances and also have artists that are featured on the album singing live,” DJ Khebza said.

“The live performances have been well received by our fans who usually don’t get the chance to watch House music being played live.”

He added that they had set their sights beyond Lesotho borders, and would soon perform in South Africa after the album’s release.

“We are already engaged in talks with a promoter from South Africa with regards to a tour. We also want to feature a South African vocalist on one of the tracks, but I cannot reveal his identity as negotiations are still ongoing,” said DJ Khebza.

Zagro Deejays has already released the banger Your Star, featuring Sig Nature and Linkeng, which they say is the first single to the album. It has received generous airplay on local radio stations and raised expectations for the album’s release.
