ROMA Boys edged Manonyane 1-0 in the Southern stream Roma derby to win the bragging rights at St Theresa Ground on Saturday.

The defeat also dented Manonyane’s promotion ambitions in the race for the single promotion spot with the Roma side leading the Southern stream with 19 points after 11 games.

Manonyane, who last week announced the signing of former Lioli and Likuena utility player, Jerry Kamela, have a one point advantage ahead of second placed Lijabatho.a

However, Lijabatho have a game in hand after their match with Naughty Boys was stopped by rains on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Qoaling Highlanders played to a 1-1 draw against Qacha’s Nek LMPS while Machokha were rampant on Sunday easing to a comfortable 3-0 win over Quthing LMPS.

Lithabaneng Golden also collected three valuable points beating Mangau 1-0 on Sunday.

Quthing LMPS and Lithabaneng Golden are also not far in the race as they are third and fourth respectively in the race for promotion to the premiership.

LMPS are third tied on 18 points with second placed Lijabatho while Lithabaneng Golden are fourth with 17 points.

In the Northern stream, Lifofane are at the top of the table with 31 points but have Litšilo following closely in second with 30 points both after 11 games.

Litšilo edged Likila United 1-0 in Butha-Buthe at the weekend while Lifofane walked away with a 2-1 home win against Sky Battalion.

The two top teams enjoy a 12 point’s advantage over LU FC and CCX, who are in third and fourth positions respectively. The duo has 18 each.

The two teams that will finish in first positions of the Southern and Northern streams will be promoted to the Premier League at the end of the season.
