LOCAL artists are set to share the stage with renowned gospel rapper, Da’ T.R.U.T.H, as well as other American and South African acts tomorrow night at Word of Life Church in Maseru.

In a night dedicated to poetry and music, the local contingent of Poetry Farm’s Matt, The Disciples, Painkiller and Trer will perform alongside American artists Emanuel “Da T.R.U.T.H” Lee Lambert Jr, Passion for Christ Movement (P4CM) poets, Ezekiel Azonwu and Janette…ikz, along with soulful South African singer and songwriter, Lilly Million.

The show is part of Da’ T.R.U.T.H’s “Celebration of One – African Tour” made possible by South Africa’s Fresh Impressions in association with local entertainment outfit, Pure Passions Events.

Award-winning Da’ T.R.U.T.H is a renowned Christian rapper, with numerous albums under his belt such as The Faith which won a Stellar Award in 2007 in the Rap/Hip-Hop Gospel CD of the Year category and The Big Picture which featured collaborations with Kirk Franklin, Trip Lee and Tye Tribbet. The Christian emcee has been in the industry for 11 years and recently released his new offering, Heartbeat.

Azonwu is a hip-hop artist and spoken word poet, whose combination of skillful penmanship and the truth of the gospel has led him to become a “lyrical evangelist”, whose poetry has not only impacted those around him, but thousands around the world, according to his biography. His passion to ignite hearts for Christ through his gift of words has led him to share the stage with gospel greats such as Jesus Culture and American Christian hip hop artist Lecrae.

The other artist from the States, poet Janette…ikz, has been performing music, dance and poetry for over 15 years and currently co-owns Zeneith Performing Arts Company. Her single YouTube video I will Wait For You currently has close to two million views. She has performed in the United States and internationally alongside Kirk Franklin, Donnie McClurkin, Lecrae, Yolanda Adams among others.

South African Lillian “Lilly” Million has captured the hearts of audiences across Johannesburg with her soulful, organic, folk vibe. She has shared the stage with the likes of Lebo Mashile and Thandiswa Mazwai among others, and appeared as a live performer on SABC Africa and etv’s Shiz Niz whilst also working as an actress, singer and writer for a theatre production called 21 poets and a Poem.
