IN a strategic move to foster meaningful partnerships and bolster Lesotho’s entertainment sector, LNIG Hollard has entered into a three-year collaboration with Jam Session Sounds for the renowned Lesotho Gospel Explosion—now rebranded as the LNIG Hollard Lesotho Gospel Explosion.
Under the agreement, LNIG will sponsor the festival with a total of M1 million over three years, starting with M250,000 this year, followed by M350,000 in each of the subsequent years. This investment reflects LNIG’s continued commitment to supporting community-driven initiatives and cultural events that resonate with Basotho.
LNIG Hollard Chief Executive Officer, Mpho Vumbukani, underscored the significance of the partnership and praised the organisers’ vision.
“It’s not common for people to devote their free time to organising religious festivals,” Mr Vumbukani said.
“As LNIG, we strongly believe in partnerships and win-win situations – that is the cornerstone of our business model.”
He also said as an insurance company, LNIG is driven by mutual benefit and always strives to form partnerships that are impactful and inclusive.
The partnership aims to elevate the festival’s scope and reach, strengthening community engagement and celebrating the richness of gospel music in Lesotho.
The Jam Session Sounds events director, Nthabi Mokitimi, said the festival was more than just an event but a sacred space for spiritual upliftment, healing, and authentic worship.
“From the beginning, we envisioned this as more than just a festival. It’s a gospel lifestyle experience, featuring a carefully curated lineup and unmatched production quality,” Ms Mokitimi said.
She stressed that every element of the festival is designed to honour God and uplift His people.
“This partnership is more than financial support, but a shared heartbeat for the people of Lesotho. LNIG Hollard has stood as a pillar of protection and progress for over four decades. Their support empowers us to expand our impact, reach the broken-hearted, and bring hope through Christ Jesus.”
This year’s festival will be held on 1 November at Mmelesi Lodge in the outskirts of Maseru, and promises an even more exhilarating experience. As always, the LNIG Hollard Lesotho Gospel Explosion boasts a stellar lineup, with Lesedi FM’s Thuso Motaung serving as Master of Ceremonies (MC).
The 2025 edition promises to be even more spectacular, featuring some of South Africa’s most celebrated gospel artists alongside Lesotho’s own beloved worship leaders. Among the confirmed performers are Matema, Hlengiwe Mhlaba, Minister Spokes, Rorisang Motsamai, and many others.
What began as a modest event with just 400 attendees has grown into a major cultural gathering, drawing over 3000 attendees in its most recent edition. With LNIG Hollard’s support, the festival is poised to reach even greater heights.
