Title-contenders Liphakoe and Majantja go head-to-head in Sunday’s pick of A Division Southern Stream matches, whose outcome could go a long way to determine who wins the championship come end of the season.
Liphakoe lead the 10-team log with 18 points after winning all their six games of the campaign, and are the only team in the second-tier league yet to lose a match this campaign.
The Quthing-based team are also yet to concede a goal but their impressive form would be tested at home on Sunday against a Majantja outfit which is second on the table and very strong candidates for Premier League promotion.
The Mohale’s Hoek-based side trail Liphakoe by five points heading into the weekend tie, but unlike their opponents, have already lost one match and drawn once, and conceded four times. In addition to keeping clean sheets in six matches, Liphakoe have scored a massive 17 goals while Majantja have found the back of the net nine times.
Meanwhile, last weekend witnessed one of the biggest derbies in the Southern Stream when Roma Boys beat Manonyane 2-1 in Roma.
In the Northern Stream, former Premier League side, Rovers, have maintained their impressive start to the 2014/15 season.
The Dynamites, as the National University of Lesotho outfit are affectionately known, have won five of their opening six matches of the season, and drawn once, which means they are also yet to lose a game this term.
Rovers sit top of the Northern Stream with 16 points while Maseru Naughty Boys are in second position followed by Lithabaneng Golden, who are on 11 and 10 points respectively.
