‘Senoaoana left country in economic shock’

MASERU — The death of Central Bank of Lesotho governor Moeketsi Senaona has left the country “in an economic shock”, Deputy Prime Minister Lesao Lehohla has said.

Lehohla was speaking at a memorial service for Senaoana which was held at Lehakoe Recreational Centre yesterday.

Senaoana died of cancer last Sunday at the age of 59.

He will be buried this Saturday.

“He left us in an economic shock when we needed a firm guiding hand from someone like him,” Lehohla said.

The acting governor, Retšelisitsoe Matlanyane, said Senaoana had left a void at a time when “we have a lot on our plate at Central Bank”.

Senaoana is survived by his wife ‘Maitumeleng, two sons and a daughter.
