MASERU — Giants LDF and Linare will get an opportunity to stretch their lead at the top of the Vodacom Premier League on Saturday.
Both sides took home a point from a lively 2-2 draw at Ratjomose last Saturday which saw the army side and Linare move five and four clear points respectively ahead of the chasing pack.
Sohle-Sohle, on top of the league log with 23 points, travel to Butha-Buthe to face surprise package Maduma.
Premiership new boys Maduma, who are in ninth place with 12 points, are looking for a win that could lift them as high as fifth place.
Linare, in second place with 22 points, are away to LCS.
On paper Linare have the much tougher task when they face a Masheshena side that moved into third-place last weekend with a 1-0 win over LMPS, snapping Simunye’s five match winning streak.
LCS have 18 points and a win would move them to within a point of Linare and firmly into the title race.
Masheshena have lost just once at the Central Prison this season.
Tse Tala nonetheless will be buoyed by the resilience they showed in coming from behind to grab a crucial point late on against LDF.
Linare are also unbeaten away from home and boast the best away record in the top-flight.
In Saturday’s other game relegation candidates Mphatlalatsane and Joy lock horns in a Leribe derby.
Mphatlalatsane, who barely survived relegation last season, are 12th with seven points.
Joy are a place above their neighbours with 10 points, but go into the game on the back of a 3-0 mauling of Mabeoana last weekend.
Meanwhile, champions Matlama will look to keep themselves in title contention when they host bottom side Mabeoana at the Bambatha Tšita Sports Arena tonight.
Tse Putsoa made a sluggish start to the season dropping as low as 10th place, but two consecutive wins have lifted the champions to sixth.
Matlama are undefeated and haven’t conceded a goal in four matches since the arrival of Mahao “Bomba” Matete as coach at the end of November.
They will seek to build on their crucial 1-0 win over Bantu last Saturday with a victory over struggling Mabeoana whose last win came way back in September.
