MASERU — Lesotho Under-20 national team coach, Leslie Notsi, says his charges are ready to take the bull by the horns when they face South Africa in a Caf Youth Championship qualifier on Saturday.
Makoanyane IX play South Africa at Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto after dispatching Mozambique 7-1 on aggregate in the last round.
“We last saw South Africa playing in April but we were not playing against them,” Notsi told the Lesotho Times.
“They’ve changed their coach and might as well have changed their techniques but we are prepared to win this match.”
Notsi said had prepared adequately for the match.
“So far things are looking good,” he said.
“It seems everything is going according to our plans and we are happy the team is ready for Saturday’s match.”
Notsi said he wanted to return from South Africa with maximum points ahead of the return leg in Maseru in two weeks’ time.
“Our main mission is to put three points in the bag by winning the Saturday match like we’ve always wanted,” he said.
“We know it’s not going to be easy but we are going to fight for a win. The team is ready.”
If Makoanyane XI beat South Africa they will face Sudan or Kenya in the second and final qualifying round for the championships in Libya next March.
