ALL is set for this year’s edition of the Afriski’s Holimo Gin, Wine and Jazz Festival which will run from 31 May to 2 June, with organisers promising a bigger and fun-filled edition.

The festivities will kick-off next Friday with a cheese and wine pairing session hosted by Gerhard Holden while Kith & Kin belt out soothing sounds.

Dinner will be served thereafter, which will be followed by musical performances from Dan Shaw, Eden Michelle, Origin and Zagro Deejays.

A wine master class will be held on Saturday along with other activities such as wine and gin tour with the performances from the aforementioned artistes as well as Itusings also joining the stage.

Sunday will be more of an adventurous day with outdoor activities such as paintball, monster rollers and skiing.

Sitting 3222 metres above sea level, Afriski is the only snow resort in the country and organisers are “looking forward to tasting some top boutique wines and spending the weekend with friends in the northern highlands of Lesotho”.

Speaking to the Weekender this week on behalf of the organisers, Peter Peyper said this edition will be bigger based on the response it has already garnered and that they were expecting a snow experience this time.

“Everything is set and all that’s left is for the patrons to arrive and start the party,” Peyper said.

“We are confident this edition is going to be bigger than last year’s because we keep getting more and more bookings each day.

“We are also expecting snow this year, so that means patrons will be able to engage in other Afriski activities which include skiing, on top of those we have already lined up for Sunday.

“The wine master class will give lessons on wine appreciation, how to hold the glass and why people smell wine among others. There will also be the gin pairing classes. The Jazzy performances are also certainly going to set the mood right.”

Holimo Gin, Wine and Jazz Festival is a collaboration between Afriski Mountain Resort and South African wine boutique, Eighteen13’s. It is a three day experiential feast of music, entertainment, adventure, culinary exploits, connoisseur led premium wine and gin showcases.

The event facilitates an intimate environment within which festival goers can interact with a range of lifestyle activations that are currently trending within the context of music, food, health and fitness gatherings around the globe.
