PREPARATIONS for the second annual Chillout Sessions in December have gathered momentum with the first build up show to be staged next weekend in Ha Thetsane in Maseru.
The event is the brainchild of South African based DJ Edwin aimed at promoting local talent by affording young performers a platform as well as treating patrons to an outdoor event.
The event will be staged at DJ Edwin’s K-Ash Car Wash in Ha Thetsane.
Dubbed the Road to #2ndAnnualChilloutSessions, the promotional show is the first of many to follow which will give revelers a taste of what to expect at the official show penciled for 18 December.
South African DJ Sech from Drumkid Online Podcast will perform at next week’s event alongside local acts such as L-Tore, KVN, 3rd Code, Hunky D and Edwin.
There will be a photo shoot by photographer and graphic designer, SpeechDesigns, which will be used to promote the event on different online platforms.
“Next week’s event had been intended as a photoshoot to promote the actual show in December but after realising how impatient some had become, we decided to have a show as a highlight of what to expect in December,” DJ Edwin told the Weekender this week.
“The Chillout Sessions is one of many events I am staging to create a social platform for people to get together to socialise, listen to good music and enjoy the activities that extend to board games including chess, darts and Xbox among others.”
He said the overwhelming response to last year’s event had prompted him to improve this year’s event to include more activities as well as bringing international acts whose identities would be revealed at a later date.
He said he would keep improving the show with the ultimate goal being to stage it at a much bigger open area as a beach concept.
DJ Edwin has also hosted The Hangout during the Easter holidays as well as the annual New Year’s Eve Party.
