76-year-old woman raped

MASERU – A 28-year-old man, Joel Ntsooa, was dragged to court this week facing charges of raping a 76-year-old woman at Ha-Jemisi in Mazenod.

Ntsooa is accused of raping the woman at the complainant’s home in Mazenod on October 16 last year.

Testifying before the court, the complainant said she was asleep at around 3am when she heard her door being opened.

She said she identified Ntsooa from his voice.

She said the accused insulted her and threatened to harm her before forcing her to kneel down. She went on to rape her, she told the court.

The woman told the court that she followed the accused when he went outside to urinate and saw his face because there was moonlight.

She said she then screamed for help from neighbours but the accused ran away.

Ntsooa pleaded not guilty and was adamant that he was never at Ha-Jemisi on the day.

He also denied that he has clothes that the accused alleged he was wearing.

The case continues. — Lena
