MASERU –A huge crowd is expected to descend on the National University of Lesotho’s Netherlands Hall on Saturday for the 2014 Mr and Miss NUL contest.
A total of 14 ladies and six hunks will contend for honours in their respective categories and if previous editions are anything to go by, then this is an event one would not want to miss for anything in the world.
Events-management outfit, Emotiv PR, is organising the pageant alongside the university’s Students’ Representative Council, and according to one of the organisers, Tlali ‘Mr Maps’ Mapetla, all is set for Saturday’s big bash which gets underway at 6pm.
“Modelling is an emerging career in Lesotho, so we believe a pageant like this one serve as a stepping stone towards a career in that field.
“In addition, we have had quite a number of beauty queens representing the country internationally, so this will be a great opportunity to put the 14 competing ladies in the limelight.
“The added incentive is that the winner of the NUL pageant will represent the country in the next Miss University Africa contest.
“We can proudly say that the crown came to Lesotho in 2012 through local stunner, Rorisang Molefe, who I will be co-hosting with on that day,” Mapetla told the Weekender.
Mapetla further said there would be a star-studded line-up of deejays, who include Untitled DJ, Super Twins, MIP All-Stars (Basali Basali crew), DJ Mekonko, Trojan and Oozy Soul.
