GOSPEL group, Oasis Praise Family, is set to launch its debut album titled Nations tomorrow at Lehakoe Club in Maseru.

The album launch is also set to feature popular South African evangelist and singer, Kgotso Makgalema.

Oasis Praise Family was formed in November 2012 by Jonas Mohale and Mohau Moeketsi who shared a vision of mobilising Christian musicians to make an impact beyond the four walls of the church.

Mohale told the Weekender in an interview this week that the 10-track offering was a product of various influences.

“Since we are a group consisting of various members from various backgrounds and who write and arrange music differently, the songs have different genres. However, our predominant genre is Contemporary African Gospel music,” he said, adding that the album also includes songs such as Re U fa Hlompho, Jesu oa Makhotla and Molimo ‘Moloki among others.

“As expressed in our title track, Nations, the album is meant to introduce us to Africa and the whole world. For a long time, we subscribed to the western style of gospel music but, with this album, we express the message that Africa has something to offer the world.”

He said they decided to invite Makgalema because of his cross generational appeal.

“We decided to feature Kgotso because he can appeal to our target market of both the young and old. This goes for all the other featured artists as well, their different interpretations of gospel are what will make this show great,” Mohale said.

The other acts lined up for the launch are Pulse of Joy from South Africa, Anointed Worshipers, Meisie, Rorisang Motsamai, Keke and Tshitso Chalatsi among others
