MASERU — Pioneer Shopping Mall last week held a successful five-day wedding expo.
An administrator at Pioneer Mall, Soso Mokuku, told the Lesotho Times this week that the expo was meant to showcase wedding products available in Lesotho.
“The expo was intended for everyone who offers wedding services, be it decorations, dressmaking or catering,” Mokuku said.
“We also allowed our tenants to take part in the expo as well.”
The likes of Proudly African Boutique, Liboti Hat Shop, Absolute Creations, Wedding Palace, Occasions Decoration, Markams, Foschini, It is Well, Wedding World, Kodak, LCS, Kristine Botique were among the local exhibitors who displayed their wedding services.
Mokuku said the expo provided an advertising platform for wedding service providers in Lesotho.
“Not everyone can manage to buy newspaper space and advertise their services yet they still need business.
“So Pioneer thought of a new and exciting idea to create a platform for business in the country and those who operate within the shopping centre,” she said.
The expo showcased shoes, bridal gowns, evening gowns and decorations suitable for weddings.
The show saw local models dressed in breath-taking bridal and evening gowns matched with stunning shoes.
Mokuku said the expo was also intended to create a buzz for the mall as a whole.
“The expo managed to grab attention, turn heads and create a buzz among customers,” she said.
“Some customers only use the parking entrance and barely tour the mall to see which other shops are available so we got tenants displaying their clothes at eye catching places to grab attention.”
Mokuku added: “Of all our expos, this one was noisier and exciting because it was an idea that had never been used before. From the first day we had local models parading in and outside the mall creating hype and interest for the expo.”
“We received quite positive feedback from our clients and exhibitors who said they had managed to get orders for their products.”
