MASERU — Three local footballers are set to cross the border for trials with a South African first division team, the Lesotho Times can reveal.
African Warriors FC general manager said the Free State side were targeting the Lioli duo of winger Sello ‘Muso and midfielder Bushy Moletsane.
The club is also interested in taking a look at Likhopo defender Lebohang Nkakole.
But Maketa said they were yet to engage the trio’s teams about the proposed trials although the three players already know.
“The trials issue is not yet finalised because we have to consult their teams first,” Maketa told the Lesotho Times this week.
“The trials are not open to everyone and these players can only know if they are attending trials after their teams have agreed to release them.”
The two-week trials are scheduled to start in the first week of July.
Lesotho international Lebajoa Mphongoa is on the books of African Warriors.
Maketa said ‘Muso, Moletsane and Nkakole will have to compete with triallists from the Ivory Coast, Ghana and Zimbabwe.
“We are also picking players from Ghana, the Ivory Coast and Zimbabwe who will compete to sign contracts with African Warriors,” he said.
“African Warriors should be in the PSL and we must have players who can help us reach that goal.”
