ORGANISERS of the upcoming debut Strictly Local event say plans are well on course ahead of the 4 April 2020 gig.

The organisers told the Weekend this week that they have so far, assembled eighty percent of the line-up for the show that will be held at the Victoria Hotel poolside

Among the confirmed performers are DJs Kopper Waleh, Sentšo, Lym, Mtsuzi, Bootz and Pablo.

One of the organisers, Paballo ‘Pablodj’ Phakoa told the Weekender in a recent interview that Strictly Local aims to combine food and fashion businesses in an entertaining environment spiced up with music.

“We have noticed that the youth in business have good products which people love but don’t know where to find them, so we came up with this platform to give them a platform for their products,” Pablodj said.

He said they hope to have all local products in one place for easy access to the market.

Although the April event will be the first, Pablodj said they intend to host it bi-annually with the second one penned in for December 2020.

“The event is aimed at promoting local brands or small businesses among them handicrafts, clothing brands and even artistes.”

He said they are targeting at least 20 artistes for the show while they are engaging some local drawcards.

Pablodj said they are hoping to have genres that include hip hop, house, amapiano, famo, gospel, poetry and comedy among others.

“We have surprise acts from big local artists whom we cannot reveal at the moment,” he said.

“We don’t have any specific genre because we are planning to accommodate everyone so we are open to any genre,” Pablodj said.
