MASERU — The Lesotho Netball Association (LNA) will hold a tournament next week to select two national teams. LNA development officer, Ramafahla Thamae, told the Lesotho Times on Tuesday that the tournament will be used to select about 40 national players. “We are holding a national netball tournament next weekend and are expecting all 14 registered teams to compete in these games,” Thamae said. He said the main purpose of the tournament is to select two teams that will represent the country in the Cosana and SUCSA games later this year. The Cosana games will be held in Swaziland in June while SUCSA will be held in Zambia later this year. The Cosana games are senior regional games while SUCSA are developmental tournaments held for Under-20 netball players. “This is will be a female tournament only and we are using it to identify and select players for the Cosana games,” Thamae said. He said they were looking for 20 players in each team and are hopeful Lesotho will perform well this year. The LNA has roped in a top South African coach to help with the recruitment exercise. He said the senior team will be a blend of both senior and junior players. “There are a number of junior players that we identified during the Vision 2020 Games.
