LTDC launches tourism marketing website

Rethabile Pitso

THE Lesotho Tourism Development Corporation (LTDC) will tomorrow unveil its newly-designed tourism marketing website meant to showcase the Mountain Kingdom as a destination of choice for local, regional and international visitors. Click here: http://www.visitlesotho.travel/

According to LTDC Public Relations Manager ‘Manchafalo Motsoeneng, the website would be hosted under the internet domain www.visitlesotho.info and provide detailed information about tourism accommodation facilities, destinations, travel information and recommended travel guides among other features.

She said the website was user friendly and easy to navigate.

“You will find that our new website is divided into eight main sections: Home page, What to see, What to do, Where to Stay, Travel guide, Investment in Lesotho and contacts. We shifted to a client-centric layout so our users can easily navigate our site and locate the information they are looking for in a short space of time,” said Ms Motsoeneng.

“The Home Page gives an overview of the unique features of Lesotho and shows what to expect when a visitor comes to Lesotho. The What to See section provides detailed information on attractions and tourism routes, and this is where a visitor can access our general information brochure. We have dedicated the Where to Stay section to providing a list of accommodation facilities, detailed information on accommodation facilities and the accommodation map.”

The webpage is also interactive to enable tourists to contact the corporation and share experiences of their visit in the country.

“We also want to give our clients an opportunity to know us better; who we are as an organisation, what we do and the leaders driving the LTDC team. A responsive design has been used for the website, which means that clients will essentially see a design optimised for their smart phones, tablets and desktop computers,” she said.

“By clicking on the social media icons shown, which will take you further to our social media pages, you will get a pretty good idea of what is happening in the Lesotho tourism arena in real time, in recent times and what others are saying about us.”

Ms Motsoeneng added the website would be upgraded on an ongoing basis.

“The site is now accessible, but the process to populate it with new and emerging information is ongoing. We will soon upload information such as tourism statistics to our visitors. We encourage everyone to visit and explore the site from 5 August 2016.”
