LCS break silence on Lebokollane exit

LIA and LESPA forge strategic partnership

FOLLOWING a prolonged and noticeable absence of experienced midfielder Lisema Lebokollane, LCS FC has finally confirmed that the player has left the club.

Lebokollane joined LCS in August last year from Matlama but made only limited appearances during his stint with the team. In recent weeks, he has neither featured in matchday squads nor attended training sessions in the ongoing 2025/26 Vodacom Premier League (VPL) campaign.

The club had remained tight-lipped about his absence until now.

However, investigations by the Lesotho Times have revealed that LCS opted to part ways with the player, citing his inability to fully commit to the team due to work obligations outside football.

Although the club had not publicly announced the development, LCS Communications and Marketing Manager, Kofa Rantai, confirmed that both parties had mutually agreed to terminate the relationship.

“The player in question is no longer with LCS. The two parties reached an agreement to part ways,” Rantai said.

“His work commitments were the main reason behind the decision, as he was no longer able to perform his duties as expected within the team.”

Rantai added that the club had been attempting to resolve the situation since January this year, but without success.

While the official reason for Lebokollane’s departure centres on his work commitments, this publication has also learnt that alleged disciplinary issues may have contributed to the decision.

Even during his time at Matlama, the former Likuena international was reportedly among players frequently linked to off-field controversies and disciplinary concerns. It is believed this played a role in his departure from Matlama, where he was released alongside several senior players during a squad overhaul ahead of the current season.

Lebokollane had been reunited with LCS head coach, Leslie Notši, who had previously worked with him at Linare and within the national team set-up, when he joined the club last year.
