MASERU –– The new Buddie A-Division season kicks off this weekend. The twenty team division is divided into two ten-team leagues, the northern stream and southern streams.
The two relegated sides Melele and Sekamaneng Young Stars both begin their campaigns with home games.
Melele, who reverted back to their name from Naughty Boys after the end of their premier league status deal with the latter, will host Mohale’s Hoek Young Stars in a deep south derby in Qacha’s Nek. Young Stars face Maseru Naughty Boys (who, in turn, used the name Melele last season) in Sekamaneng.
Like the Premiership, the A-Division will see changes this season. Four sides will be relegated from the top-flight and two sides will be dropped from each first division stream to the B-Division .
The A-Division season will conclude next March with the division’s top eight cup taking place in April.
