BAD-BOY rapper, Robocop appears to have returned to his delinquent ways after allegedly sabotaging the launch of the Hustler Clothing brand in Ha Motloheloa, Maseru last Saturday.
The Ha Motloheloa-born Robocop whose real name is Sello Molibeli (25) has a reputation as a troublemaker which he appeared to have shed off in July 2016 when he publicly announced that he was a reformed person and even released the single, Ntsoareleng, which was essentially an appeal for forgiveness for his alleged misdemeanours.
This was enough to convince several people including Hustler Clothing founder, Tumelo Moiloa that he had repented so much such that the latter appointed him the brand ambassador for the clothing label which was launched in June 2016.
Moiloa this week told the Weekender that Robocop stabbed in the back this weekend by botching a Saturday event to officially launch the brand in Maseru.
According to Moiloa who is based in Bloemfontein, South Africa where he is a student, the abortive event was actually the brainchild of Robocop who allegedly promised to organise and take care of all the aspects of staging the party at a club in Ha Motloheloa.
“Since I spend most of the time in Bloemfontein, Robocop had promised to organise everything and he selected the venue in his home area,” Moiloa said.
He said Robocop also roped in some artistes to perform at the event.
“He told me everything was in order and that he had got the venue for free and the artistes had confirmed their participation for no fee as well.
“There was also another businesswoman from Ha Motloheloa who gave us M1000 sponsorship for the logistics because she was happy that Robocop was a changed person.”
Moiloa said that all hell broke loose on Saturday on the day of the event when the club owner expelled them and Robocop performed a disappearing act without so much as explaining what had gone wrong.
“People showed up in great numbers on Saturday around noon and I was certain it was going to be a very successful show. The owner arrived and he was surprised to see so many people in his yard and thought there was a fight. He was so shocked to find out that there was an event going on as he claimed that Robocop had never discussed anything with him then expelled us from his club.
“I asked Robocop what had really happened but he just got into a car and drove away. I was left to deal with the angry people and the artistes who demanded reimbursement for transport and food allowances.
There were people who also needed to be refunded for tickets they had bought prior to the event.
“I also learned that Robocop had been taking deposit money from people who had ordered our apparel.”
Moiloa said that he had not heard from Robocop since that day and he never responded to phone calls “and blocked me on WhatsApp”.
“The best thing is to part ways with him for he has proved he has and never will change into a better person.”
The Weekender made several attempts to obtain comment from Robocop but his cellphone went unanswered.
