MASERU Sun Cabanas, in collaboration with Ultimate FM, ushered in the festive season in style with a massive pool party held at Cabanas Poolside last Saturday and Sunday.
The pool party served the twin purposes of reopening the pool to the public, which had been closed during winter, while also promoting the first ever Ultimate FM awards ceremony to be held on 8 November.
It brought together different age groups from kids to adults while keeping them all entertained. Given that the Maseru Sun pool can cater for all age groups, the shallow part was allocated to the children with a demarcation in the deep area with the adults frolicked in the water.
Fortunately, the weather was conducive with the water temperature inviting for the revelers to go for a swim. For any kids not keen on swimming, jumping castles were on hand courtesy of the organisers.
Ultimate FM presenters were also on hand, at the fun-filled event to mingle, much to the delight of their listeners who were elated to see the radio personalities in person.
The presenters also asked the attendees a number of questions on about Ultimate FM with those who got the most answers correct presented with a Sun International hamper with such prizes as a night for two or free lunch at one of the two group’s hotels.
The pool party was also complemented by the performances of an array of local acts, some of whom have been nominated for the upcoming local awards.
Apart from entertaining the crowd, the musical performances were also meant to give the artistes an opportunity to interact with fans so that the latter can increase their chances of winning the first edition of the Ultimate FM Awards by voting for them.
On Saturday, the likes of Megahertz, Juvy, Vida Loca, Nde and the Dynamite Dancers entertained the crowd, while the Sunday edition was graced by laid back performances from such artistes as Khahliso Mphephoka, Big Potato, Sents’o and Paul Lewake.
Despite no-shows from Stlofa and Gudoza, who were billed to perform, the pool party turned out to be an event to remember. At just M50, admission was affordable considering the assortment of entertainment available and foodstuffs which included a burger, chips and a soft drink.
