MASERU — The Playboy energy drink has stormed Lesotho with pizzazz as promoters of the beverage in the kingdom last weekend threw bashes around the capital.
The promotional shows for the energy drink last weekend had the likes of Mr Maps, Mo’ Molemi and DJ Tseko keeping enthusiastic crowds on their feet.
The drink — sporting Playboy’s famous rabbit-head logo — was first unveiled in Lesotho two weeks ago by Sweet Ginger, a local marketing company.
T’sukulu Taoana, the marketing manager of Sweet Ginger, was impressed with the public’s response to the arrival of the energy drink on the market.
He said the drink would present opportunities to locals who want to be involved in its promotion and distribution.
“Playboy is set to present huge opportunities to those willing to be part of our distribution and promotion, especially the younger generation,” T’sukulu said.
“Our drink is also a stress reliever, so entertaining people with fun-filled events is one of the packages we are prepared to offer.”
And those who were at Litaleng last Friday could not have been disappointed.
The event started around 7pm with the hip-hop sounds of Mo’ Molemi.
There were also the likes of the veteran DJ Tseko and Nuch who kept revellers dancing till the wee hours of Saturday.
But the Playboy exhibition did not stop there.
The show moved to Las Vegas at Roma, 37km from Maseru, where the partying continued.
The entertainers — including Macs on the decks, Commanda Obbs and DJ Hally — gave all their best to make the Playboy promotion memorable.
Mr Maps was encouraged by the response to his new album, Tax Free, which he was also unveiling during the shows.
A group of 10 young and smart ladies, known as the Playmates, added zing to the night.
The Playboy energy drink was first launched in the United States in 2001.
