MASERU — Meloding Lounge at Victoria Hotel will this Saturday host an evocative show dubbed “Back to the 80s”.
Well-known local disc-jockeys — including Tseko, Counterforce and Thuso — will be on the decks.
The nostalgic bashment rolls off at 7pm.
“Every person is expected to come in attire different from what we are used to,” said DJ Tseko, one of the organisers of the show.
“We want people to wear the full ‘Back to the 80s’ outfits.”
The DJs plan to play old school music to complete the theme of the night.
“We want the show to be distinctive, to be the most astonishing and remarkable,” said DJ Tseko.
“It’s been quite a while now since a show of this kind was done.
“We really want this show to rock the night and people will be entertained by international music that suits that time.”
The organisers encouraged those who will attend the show to sport even hairstyles from the 80s.
“We are encouraging people to come in hairstyles that remind us of the past,” said DJ Thuso.
“Among other hairstyles we expect perm, afro, German cuts and many more.
“The show’s aim is to show our youngsters how people used to dress in the old days and to make the elders remember their days,” he added.
“We want to pay tribute to those who were there at that time.”
