MULTI-TALENTED DJ and presenter, MO Damane, will tomorrow launch her website that is meant to promote her brand and fragrance range.
The website, Thatgirl.co.za, is set to be unveiled at Thetsane-based Dona@Balos Restaurant amid pomp and fanfare.
The 28-year-old forayed into the world of luxury perfumes last November with the launch of her fragrance That Gal Fragrance by Mo. Born Mosa Damane, MO has since launched a body lotion and men’s cologne range called That Guy.
This week, she told the Weekender the website was meant to showcase her brand and product offerings beyond her vicinity.
“The website was sponsored by a South Africa firm called UniCon Productions who liked my hustle,” MO said.
“Hopefully the website will showcase my products to an international market, with anyone around the world able to order my range of perfumes and lotions.”
She said the website would also market her as a DJ, aspiring actress, radio and television presenter and entrepreneur.
“It will shine a spotlight on my journey over the past 11 years since foraying into the entertainment industry. The website will also feature a gallery of both me and my products.”
Passion to succeed, MO said, was carrying her through the difficult process of establishing a brand.
“It hasn’t been an easy journey as there are good days and bad ones. However, what inspires me the most is my humble background,” she said.
“Growing up, I sometimes went to bed hungry which I would never wish even on my worst enemy. I lost my dad in 2006 and my mother did not have a job at the time so those times were not easy. My struggles were enough to ignite a spirit of trying many things and believing in everything I do.”
Inspired by South African entertainers-cum-entrepreneurs, DJ Sbu and DJ Zinhle, MO’s career highlights include being a personal assistant to South African singer, radio and television personality, Dineo Ranaka, an account executive for South African entertainment outfit, Dream Team Talent Management and working for several media organisations that include TK FM, Lesotho Times r, Ultimate FM, and the national broadcaster. She is currently a presenter at 357 FM.
