MATLAMA returned to winning ways on Sunday beating a hapless LCS 3-1 at Setsoto Stadium.

The win restored the side’s confidence after it fell to LMPS 1-0 in the Top8 championship a fortnight ago.

Jane Thabantšo’s brace and Mabuti Potloane’s header were enough to see Charles Manda charges maintain the second spot in the 14-team league table with 31 points 12 points behind leaders Bantu.

LCS’ consolation goal came from Makara Ntaitsane.

The loss saw Masheshena surrender their place in the top four dropping to sixth.

Rookies Lifofane completed a double against Lioli last weekend beating the Teyateyaneng side 1-2 at Maputsoe DIFA Ground.

Newly appointed Lioli coach Morena Morebodi appears to be enduring a tough time registering a 4-1 win over LDF two weeks ago, a one-all draw with LDF last week in the Top8 and a 2-1 loss to Lifofane last Sunday.

Jospeh Buoateng and John Mofokeng were on target for Lifofane with Tumelo Makha pulling one back for Lioli from the spot.

Tse Nala dropped one step down to seventh with 21 points while Lifofane jumped one place up to fourth with 25 points.

On Saturday LDF handed Liphakoe a 3-2 win with Koete Mohloai scoring a hat-trick. Liphakoe’s goals came from Ntema Mocoane and Tlotliso Tumahole.

Sohle-Sohle, as LDF are affectionately known, moved one step up to ninth with 17 points while Liphakoe remained 12th, just a point above Lijabatho in 13th.

Sefotha-fotha also returned to winning ways beating hopeless Swallows 3-0 at Nyokosoba Ground. Relebohile Mosebo, Nzenze Nkulu and Mohau Mothibeli scored for Molebatsi Mothobi’s charges.

League pacesetters-Bantu-continued on their fine run beating Kick4Life 3-1 at Setsoto Stadium to maintain their place at the summit of the log.

A brace from Tsietsi Khooa and Litšepe Marabe’s goal were enough to condemn Kick4Life to their third loss to Bantu this season. The side has lost twice to Bantu in the league and once in the Top8 quarter final.

Kick4Life’s goal came from a well taken Tanki Seoli set piece from just outside the box.

The Old Europa outfit dropped one place down to 10th spot with 16 points.

A ruthless LMPS gave Lijabatho their biggest defeat this season thrashing them 5-0 at PTC Ground on Sunday.

Tšepo Seturumane scored twice while Roboama Koloti, Monyatheli Ntobo and Sello Tale each scored once to help their side maintain their five-match unbeaten run.

The win saw Simunye move two places up to fifth in the table 24 points while Lijabatho remained in relegation zone on 13th position with nine points.

Thabile Secker is yet to win since joining Lijabatho last month. He has drawn once against Linare and lost twice to Lioli and LMPS.

On the other hand, Itumeleng Metso is having a time since taking over from Teele Ntšonyana at LMPS last month. He has won three against Lifofane, Matlama (Top8) and Lijabatho and drawn with Lifofane.

To wrap up Saturday matches, Linare were demolished Likhopo 4-0 at Maputsoe DIFA Ground to cement their place in the top four. The side now sits in third with 25 points, while Likhopo remain eighth with 18 points.

Makhabane Mpeli scored a brace while Lebajoa Mosehlenyane and Norman Kumatse scored a goal apiece to help Moses Ramafole’s side return to winning ways following a goalless draw with Liphakoe a fortnight ago.
