SINCE it is the last weekend of June, revelers will be spoilt for choice this month-end with an array of activities lined up in Maseru.

The weekend will be kick-started by the annual Fête de la Musique (Festival of music) today at Ouh la la Gardens, starting at 5pm and courtesy of Alliance Française. The major highlight of the festival will be Malagasy guitarist Solorazaf’s performance who, along with professional and amateur artistes such as Soul Preachers, The Disciples as well as Hip hop groups INI and MIP, will entertain audiences.

The RnB and Soul Ballad sessions at Renaissance coffee shop at Pioneer Mall will follow suit on Friday evening. The show will be presented by Lorenzo Productions, offering soothing slow jams and will also feature karaoke sessions.

Also at Pioneer Mall on the same evening, veteran theatre artiste, Gonzales Scout, will perform in a one-man hander play at the Ster Kinekor Cinema 1. Scout will stage the play Stupid Pride in which he takes on all the characters in the storyline.

Saturday will be the fulcrum of the weekend line up with a number of exciting events on offer.

From 4pm, Elegant Lingerie will be launching its underwear range for both men and women at Morits’oane Guest House. The event will run till Sunday evening.

The first session of The Best Kept Secret — a series of Hip-Hop shows and video Interviews featuring L-Tore, Nuch, Ms Leeh, Mr Maps and Qekha with The Hitman on the decks — will take place at Pioneer Mall.
As if that’s not scintillating enough, the annual DJ Mekonko birthday celebrations, which vaunt an all-star line-up of artists from both Lesotho and South Africa, will start at 8pm at the Lehakoe Club. This fourth edition of the birthday celebrations will be held in partnership with Hunter’s Gold cider with goodies to be won by lucky punters.

Café 72, situated at MGC Park, will also celebrate 25 years of operations with a Jeans ‘N Heels style party. There will be performances from the likes of Mr Maps, Macs, Roxy and A-Supreme, with lots of prizes up for grabs.
