HER Grammys performance with husband Jay Z wasn’t the only reason that fans’ jaws dropped on Sunday night.
In fact, when Beyoncé walked the red carpet at the star-studded awards in a sheer white dress, the main focus was on just how much weight she has lost.
And now Michael Costello, who designed the white and nude gown, has revealed that the formerly bootylicious singer is now a size 2 (UK size 6).
In an interview with E! News, former Project Runway winner Michael said: ‘It was incredible! We didn’t have any of her sizes or measurements. The dress was just made to fit a sample mannequin.
“It’s smaller than a size 4. She is tiny! That dress is at least a 2/4. She looks amazing. I just love the way it all came together.”
Beyoncé is said to have lost an incredible 32kg over the past six months after embarking on a vegetarian diet earlier this year before making the decision to try out the now famous 22-day vegan diet.
According to reports, Beyoncé and Jay Z were inspired to give the regime a go by her trainer Marco Borges.
A regular day’s diet would see the couple have a plant-based breakfast and a smoothie made of vegetables for lunch, with snacks on offer including cucumber and edamame beans.
Beyoncé combined the diet with a rigorous exercise regime, which saw her and Marco increase the amount of dancing and running sessions she did in a week, as well as up her visits to the gym.
And just in case Beyoncé didn’t like the gown, which in itself took three days to make, Michael ended up putting together four separate outfit options for the singer.
He explained: “We had a great team. I made four other pieces that night for Beyonce, so that her stylist Ty had good options.”
Asked what his inspiration was for the gown, Michael added: “Well, the dress was inspired by New York. The Winter Wonderland in New York. I’ve been obsessed with New York, the culture, the lifestyle.
“I love visiting the city when it’s covered in snow. I imagined snow falling onto plants, and trees. It was as if snow was falling onto fabric.
“When I found the fabric and cut out the leaves and flowers. It all came out together magically. I remember sketching out the dress, and I thought this is exactly how I wanted to do the dress.”
In spite of the garment’s minimal coverage, Beyoncé managed to look elegant as always as she arrived for the awards on Sunday night alongside her rapper husband Jay Z.
Her perfectly toned body was delicately clad in a combination of sheer fabric and white floral lace, creating a patterned cut-out effect, leaving intriguing gaps in all the right places.
The superstar’s cropped blonde tresses — which were previously drenched on stage — fell into natural curls just above her shoulders and a neat dash of red lipstick added some colour to the arrangement.— Daily Mail
