Sixth woman’s body found in Ekurhuleni as police investigate deaths

Police in South Africa are investigating after a sixth woman’s body was discovered in the Ekurhuleni area of Gauteng within two months.

SABC News reported on 15 September 2026 that the latest body was found in Kwa-Thema, Springs, east of Johannesburg. The discovery followed the recovery of another woman’s body in Olifantsfontein near Kempton Park on Monday.

Police said two of the women found in the Kempton Park area had not yet been identified. According to the broadcaster, the victims were found partially clothed and had visible bruising.

One of the women has been identified as Elizabeth Moselakgomo, a runner who had been reported missing. Authorities are continuing investigations into the deaths.
