MASERU — A local businessman, Tumelo Makhele, is expected to launch a new clothing brand at Maseru Sun Hotel tomorrow.

The Popri label by his company, Popri Junction, specialises in fashion ranges for both men and women.

He said they would be unveiling men’s shirts which include checked, pinstriped and plain formal.

“This is the first entry level of men’s shirts. Tomorrow’s event will not be a fashion show but an exhibition to allow people to hold, feel the quality and even try the shirts.”

Makhele added that the brand has suits, shirts, ties, hand bags, shoes and accessories, which would be launched during a fashion show later this year.

Local music group, Kingdom Classics, who are dressed by Popri Junction, and DJ Alex will provide entertainment during the event.

“The launch is a teaser of what is yet to be available in stores under the new brand. We are going to have apparels and footwear for both men and women, formal and smart casual,” Makhele said.

He added that his love for good quality clothes influenced him to establish a clothing brand.

Although there were already some businesspeople manufacturing clothes in Lesotho, Popri would ensure that their products are of a much higher quality.

Their brand would only be associated with strictly formal and smart casual for people who love quality clothes and love to dress up.

Makhele said their brand would only be sold at local clothing boutiques while they negotiate to have them at other clothing shops across the country.

He said the launch is a platform to promote the local modelling and fashion industries.
