LIMKOKWING University of Creative Technology this week hosted a prestigious awards ceremony to honour 48 exceptional students whose outstanding achievements have set new benchmarks of excellence in academia, creativity, industry skills, leadership and sportsmanship.

The event, attended by students, sponsors and distinguished guests, underscored the university’s unwavering commitment to nurturing well-rounded graduates equipped to excel in their respective fields.

The ceremony featured five distinguished categories, each recognising a different facet of student excellence.

The first and most coveted was the Awards for Excellence, which honoured students who exemplified academic brilliance by scoring the highest cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) within their faculties at both diploma and degree levels.

These students not only demonstrated mastery of their coursework but also integrated cultural and industry standards, embodying the university’s holistic approach to education.

Next was the Creativity and Innovation Award, celebrating students who have shown promising developments through inventive thinking while balancing academic pursuits with co-curricular activities.

These students demonstrated resilience and resourcefulness, contributing creatively to their fields and embodying the spirit of innovation that Limkokwing champions.

The Industry Award for Excellence was another highlight, recognising students who displayed exceptional industry skills and actively participated in industry engagements or competitions.

This accolade underscores the university’s focus on producing industry-ready graduates capable of making immediate and meaningful contributions to their professions.

The university also celebrated leadership through the University Colours for Leadership Award, presented to students who have actively participated in university events — both on and off campus — and have demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities.

Whether serving as SRC members, university ambassadors, or leaders within their academic programmes, these students have shown dedication and commitment to the growth of the university community.

Finally, the University Colours for Sports Award honoured student-athletes who actively participate in various sporting disciplines, represent the university in competitions, and achieve commendable results while maintaining academic excellence.

Their commitment to sportsmanship and teamwork reflects the university’s promotion of a balanced and healthy lifestyle.

In his opening remarks, Director of Academic Management, Dr Lelingoana Lerotholi, emphasised the importance of recognising student achievement.

“Today is a day to celebrate your outstanding abilities and accomplishments,” Dr Lerotholi said.

“You have outcompeted your peers and emerged victorious. We gather here to rejoice with you and encourage you as you face future challenges beyond these walls.”

He urged graduates to remain calm, persevere, and continue striving for excellence, reminding them that they serve as heroes and ambassadors of the university’s values.

Lisema Ramaili from the Entrepreneurship Acceleration Programme also addressed the audience, highlighting the importance of resilience, creativity, and determination.

She acknowledged the invaluable support of sponsors and partners, emphasising that the university takes pride in producing industry-ready graduates whose excellence is woven into their daily operations.

The ceremony not only celebrated individual achievements but also reinforced Limkokwing University’s mission of fostering innovation, leadership, and excellence among its students.

As graduates step into the wider world, the university’s message remains clear: with resilience and dedication, they are well-equipped to make a positive impact on society.
