In order to ensure the affordability of the internet connection to all customers, Econet Telecom Lesotho revised data contracts tariffs while also introducing low-end monthly packages and unbeatable top up pricing beginning this month.

This was revealed by Econet’s Product Manager: Data, Itumeleng Mpasi in an interview this week.

Econet offers high speed internet connectivity through different technological platforms on mobile and fixed at different pricing. Mpasi said that the revision came as a result of the ongoing strategy for the company to make internet accessible to all. “We have realized that some of our customers can only afford to purchase data once a month hence the introduction of a 5GB package that costs less than M99 on Econet Fibre/ADSL and M150 on mobile as opposed to  M155 and M210 respectively” said Mpasi

She was quick to add that this does not limit customers to the monthly data that they have purchased. “We do not expect customers to stop working and patiently wait for month end when they have exhausted their data which is why we have created top up data bundles” said Mpasi “which is why we have introduced matchless top up bundles for Econet Fibre/ADSL starting from as little as M30 for 1GB”

These unrivaled top up bundles offer up to 150GB at a mere M1,240 and can be easily accessed through option 10 on *100# menu.

Mpasi said in addition to this, Econet also offers schools’ data packages at the fifty percent discount. “We believe in the power of education as it is the premise of progress in every society and family and this is our way of meeting the educators’ half way and showing support on the exceptional work that they are doing” added Mpasi.

So far, there is full Econet fibre coverage at Lesia, Thetsane East, Thetsane West, Lower Thetsane, Masowe 1,2,3,4, Maseru East, Maseru West, Florida, Arrival Centre, White City, Ha-Hoohlo, Moshoeshoe II, Stadium area, Sea point and Hillsview  while all major towns have mobile data coverage on both 3G and 4G.

The connection and line installation on Econet Fibre is FREE, the customer pays M199 for a 14GB data while 3G and 4G SIMcards are available at no cost to customers.
