Tgee opens entries for Moshoeshoe’s Day Fashion Show

TGEE Modeling Agency has opened entries for fashion designers who are willing to showcase their designs at the Moshoeshoe’s Day Fashion Show which is scheduled for 16 March 2019 at the ‘Manthabiseng Convention Centre in Maseru.

The designers are expected to present their strictly cultural designs as the show will be held in commemoration of Basotho culture.

Tgee Modeling Agency is a platform which recruits models of both sexes to become professionals by boosting their self-esteem to make modeling a defined career. The organisation holds the fashion show annually to celebrate Basotho heritage.

The manager of the agency, Thato Fonya said the show hope to ensure that while they promote culture, they remain abreast with trends.

“The aim behind the fashion show is to embrace Basotho culture in a more fashionable manner transforming Basotho culture and tradition into a modern fashion lifestyle presentation,” Fonya said.

Fonya told the Weekender that the deadline for designers’ applications is on the 28th of this month. He said they have already confirmed Jay Designs and House of Skuts as the in-house designers for the event.

He said they were looking for a minimum of five designers with designs which are rooted in Basotho culture as lishoeshoe and African print among others.

Fonya said they will have at least 30 Tgee models who will participating at the show.

“Our agency has 60 models and we always try to invest and develop models’ talent,” he said.

He said their mission was to see modeling being appreciated in Lesotho and to ensure that models can earn a living through their trade.
