MASERU — Swazi Disc Jockeys (DJs) Stitch and C-Zar are set to invade Meloding Club tomorrow for a hip hop show dubbed the Battle of the Kingdoms.
The Swazis are set to lock horns with local DJs Max Mora and Tseko.
The show has been organised by a local entertainment company Just Flawless Events.
Lebohang Clayton, one of the organisers of the show, told XpressPeople the event was meant to nurture talent in the two countries and establish working relations among artistes.
“We have also booked Stitch from Swaziland. He is dubbed the King Scratch Master because he is one of the best hip hop DJs in his country.
“He will be teaming up with C-Zar, a versatile Swaziland DJ who plays all types of music. The duo will be battling with Max Mora our only hip hop DJ in affiliation with DJ Tseko who is versatile in his talent,” Clayton said.
He said this was not the first time they were hosting artistes from Swaziland.
“I lived in Swaziland and have observed that there is vast talent in both countries so we are stepping in to give these artistes regional and international exposure,” Clayton said.
“Lesotho doesn’t have hip hop DJs so with the Battle of the Kingdoms we are trying to open the eyes of aspiring DJs to not only strive to make it big in house music but also to be versatile.”
She added: “The event is going to be very interactive between the DJs and the crowd. We are going to let the fans determine the best DJ based on the quality of mixing the tunes.”
“We are trying to create an atmosphere that is new on the entertainment calendar. We are going to have the likes of locals Mekonko, Kopper and L-Tee from Bloemfontein to cater for the other genres in the party sector,” Clayton said.
