Motlatsi Ramafole came out victorious at the Club Monthly Mug Golf Tournament held at Maseru Golf Course on Sunday.

Ramafole beat 39 other contenders to win the tournament bankrolled by First National Bank (FNB).

Prizes were also awarded to other players who made the top 10. In an interview with Lesotho Times after the prize-giving ceremony, Ramafole said it was through constant practice that he became more proficient in the sport.

“I was practicing three times a week preparing for this tournament because the other players are very competitive.

“I believe playing in a consistent manner and being focused on the game has given me leverage over the others.

“This is my third Mug this year as I won in January and March and I am going to keep on practicing and playing well to maintain the winning streak as golf is a muscle-memory game,” he said.

Oh his part, FNB Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Mopeli Mokhachane, who came second in the tournament, thanked all the players, who made the event possible.

“I am grateful for the turnout as we do not normally have as many people coming for the Sunday games. I am very thrilled to see your support,” Mokhachane said.

He also said FNB was committed to the long-term sponsorship of golf in the country.
