MASERU — Newly elected Matlama executive committee have vowed not to ring changes after winning the club’s election last Sunday, hinting that the jobs of caretaker coaches Lehloholonolo Mokhele and Sello Seholoholo are safe.

Tse Putsoa as Matlama is affectionately known is the only team in the league to have won all their opening 5 matches and are at the top of the league standings ahead of their Saturday encounter against LDF scheduled for Pitso ground.

The Sea Point team has 15 points from their first 5 matches.

The club’s newly elected marketing and communications manager, Thato Rafutho, told this paper that there is no need to fix something that is not broken.

“Well, the most important thing for us as we start our new term in office will be making this team as success in all the departments,” Rafutho said.

“As for the coaches, why fix something that is not broken when the team is doing so well.

He said the Tse Putsoa’s newly elected president, Ikarabele Sello, has already met with the playing staff and the technical team during the week following the victory during the club last Sunday elections.

“The team has had a dream start to the season and all we have to do is to support them so that they continue with their good work,” said Rafutho.

“It is still early days and there is not much to say, but what I can tell is that the whole Matlama community is united to make the club a success,” he said.

He said the outgoing committee has also been very supportive which he said will help them settle quickly to help the team enjoy success.

Rafutho thanked the club’s supporters for giving them a chance to lead the team.

The outgoing members include Paballo Makakole who lost in the race to become the new Matlama president.

Others are Lesolle Phalatsi, Boletsi Senti, Sefako Seema, and Siphiwe Mseti who did not seek re-election.

The nine time premier league champions have enjoyed a fine run since the start of the new campaign and Rafutho said they want to see the team maintain the momentum.
