MISS Personality Lesotho 2017, Limakatso Tṧosane, will on Saturday host a fashion show at ‘Mabathoana High School Hall in Maseru with the aim of uplifting modelling and fashion in the country.

Tṧosane won the Miss Personality 2017 title at the prestigious Miss Lesotho Sunday Express 2017 pageant in October 2016.

She said the event was conceived out of the need to uplift the modelling and fashion industries that were intertwined.

“There is a very strong relationship between modelling and fashion since models are trusted to market different designs either on the runway or on media platforms,” Tṧosane said in an interview with the Weekender this week.

“Another thing is fashion modelling is growing in the country so through this event we aim to promote the use of local models by fashion designers as a means of marketing their brands or designs.

“We are looking at promoting clothes made by Basotho and we will further give the designers the opportunity to market themselves by allowing them to do presentations on stage,” she adding, the ultimate aim was to see a reduction in imported clothing as people turn to local designers.

“We believe the show will go a long way in improving brand awareness and also build Lesotho’s fashion industry as the aim is make it an annual event covering the whole country.”

The event, which is supported by Cuban Linx, will also see performances from the likes of DJ Mekonko, DJ Lep, Dark Brown, Single ladies and Valentine’s Guys.

She also said that the event will also be used to create awareness of the upcoming Mr and Miss Maseru pageant which will be held on 4 March.
