MASERU — Lesotho national women’s team is set to lock horns with Mozambique in an international friendly match next week.
Mehalalitoe team manager Maleshoane Mokhathi said Mozambique had asked for an international friendly ahead of the All Africa Games which will be held in Maputo next month.
The match is likely to take mid next week at Setsoto stadium, Mokhathi said.
She was however waiting for her superiors to confirm the dates and if the country was in a position to host Mozambique.
“I am yet to get the confirmation from the association,” Mokhathi said.
“Mozambique will be playing South Africa over the weekend and wants to play against us next week hence we need to give them a confirmation as soon as possible,” she said.
Mokhathi however said Mehalalitoe was ready to face Mozambique anytime next week.
“The team is ready. All the players are still engaged and we might have new players as there will be Lesotho Institute of Sports Association (Lisa) games this weekend,” she said.
In their last international encounter, Lesotho beat Mozambique 3-2 at the Cosafa Women Championship in Zimbabwe last month.
This was the locals’ first official win.
