MASERU — A 28-year-old woman from Mafeteng was shot dead by two unknown men last week.
Acting police spokesperson Lekhotla Mokete said the victim’s body was found at around 11pm on Friday night.“She had three injuries on her right thigh, left side of her chest and scapular,” he said.Four shells and three leads of a 9mm firearm were found at the scene.The woman’s body was taken to Machabeng mortuary.Police are investigating.In a separate incident, a 78-year-old woman from Mohale’s Hoek was found lying dead in a donga last Saturday.According to a police report the deceased was last seen by her relatives two days earlier.Police did not find any injuries on her body.Investigations are in progress.Meanwhile, a supermarket and a public bar in Quthing were robbed of thousands of maloti by four armed robbers on Sunday.“The four first went to the public bar and took alcohol worth over M2 000 and M1 670 cash,” Mokete said.After that they went to the supermarket where they attacked the security guard on duty before breaking in.They stole groceries worth about M3 000.Police are investigating the cases.
