LIOLI finally beat arch rivals Bantu to end the long-standing losing run against the Econet Premier League defending champions at Setsoto Stadium on Sunday.

Tse Nala skipper Mafa Moremoholo scored the goal that handed Lehlohonolo Thotanyana his first three points since returning to coach the club this season.

The Teyateyaneng outfit had not defeated their bitter rivals in a league match in over five seasons, having only registered wins in cup competitions.

Elsewhere on Saturday, Kick4Life and LCS played to a goalless draw at LCS Ground.

The two teams had a great start to the new season with Bob Mafoso’s side beating Lioli 2-1 on the opening day while LDF also beat Majantja in their first game of the campaign.

LMPS beat Majantja 1-0 on Sunday in Mohale’s Hoek to become the only team with a 100 percent record in the league this season courtesy of a Roboama Koloti goal.

On Saturday, Matlama were frustrated with a goalless draw by Sefotha-fotha at PTC Ground.

Tse Putsoa started their campaign with a 4-0 win over Linare but struggled to get past the side which is playing its second year of top-flight football.

Sefotha-fotha had previously held the defending champions Bantu 1-1 in their opening match of the season.

In other matches played on Saturday, Swallows upset Liphakoe 1-0 registering their first win since returning to the premier league at the start of the 2018/19 season.

The Mazenod outfit drew 1-1 with LCS last weekend.

Linare dusted themselves off from a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Matlama in the first week to beat Likhopo 3-2 on Saturday.

Likhopo on the other hand are still winless from their two games having lost to Liphakoe on the opening day.

LCS also registered their first win of the new season beating rookies Galaxy 3-1 at Maputsoe DIFA Ground.

The correctional service side were held 1-1 by Swallows on the opening day while Galaxy have lost their two games so far in their first year of top flight football.
