MASERU — Local entertainment outfit Karma Sessions will host world renowned German disc spinner Ralf Gum in the independence celebration gig to be held at Lehakoe Club tonight.
Karma Sessions team — Moeketsi “Karma K” Mphuthi, Katiso Molapo, Mookameli Fuma and Monaheng Seleteng — said they wanted to celebrate independence in a different way.
“There are various events that take place in remembrance of our liberation, but only a few can accommodate house music lovers.
“We as the youth of Lesotho are only trying to bring something fresh,” said Mphuthi.
“We are hoping to put people in a dance mood for the festive season.
“We decided to host Ralf Gum because he is one of the world’s best in house music, so it is definitely an honour for local deejay’s to share the stage with him.”
Mphuthi also mentioned that the event will also serve as an introduction of the new clubbing spot which will be opening soon.
“This will on the other hand be the pilot party marketing our soon-to-be-opened joint, Liquid Lounge.
“We have an array of deejays here at home yet they do not get enough exposure due to few entertainment places with a lot of restrictions.
“We will be grooming local talent at this joint.”
Ralf Gum will be playing alongside Mekonko, TshepzaDj, Katiso, Khotso and Karma K himself.
Ralf Gum told the Weekender that he likes coming here.
“I am happy to come back to the Mountain Kingdom.
“I have been here twice already and always have a great time enjoying the hospitality given to me.
“I always find the best crowd that really loves my tunes.
“As usual, I will keep my music deep and soulful which is the sound I love to produce.
“I have some brand new stuff in my bag which has never been played before.
“In addition to this, I will gauge the mood of the night and try to give people a good time with great music, hence I am coming with great pleasure,” he cited.
