RAPPER, Jiji F, is set launch his debut album at 4fordy this Saturday adding spice to the already packed festive season.
According to Jiji F, his love for rap stretches back to when he was in kindergarten, with his first recording released in 2008. He shot to fame after featuring in Basali and J Cob’s track Ke Teng remix which became club anthems. Since then, Jiji F has gone from strength to strength releasing solo offerings and collaborating with other artistes. He works closely with the sought after MIP crew and co-owns the clothing line Empire.
Since his rise to stardom, the Khubetsoana-based rapper has become a feature on the Hip Hop shows calendar with fans duly obliging each time he performs. His blending of rhymes in street vernacular has endeared him to fans who can relate to the lyrics.
The 18-track offering, Maluti Green Capital (MGC), Jiji F says, is not just for entertainment but a reminder to fans that “we can be the pioneers of our dreams or goals and we do not have to wait for someone else to take the driver’s seat”.
“I drew my inspiration from different audiences that I served throughout my performances and it took me a year and a half to put this baby, on which I worked with a number of artists, to bed,” he says.
MGC features collaborations with such rappers as SepD, Nirex, Shuffle 44, T-Mech, L-Tore, Sellz, Skebz-D, SJizzle, OGM and SubV. The much anticipated compilation features hits like Hello Momma dedicated to his mother and which celebrates womanhood. The Truth speaks of the struggles local artists face eking out a living.
“As an artist, I would like to build an industry that sustains itself and generates funds to help improve the standards of living in Lesotho.”
His launch performance will be supported by the likes of DJ Ebonix, Mr Maps DJ Shaixtacy, Juvy, Skebz D, MIP, SJizzle and Dj Individual Max who is Jiji F’s manager.
