Government on Tuesday appointed three new principal secretaries (PSs) and reassigned three others to different ministries.

Lefeu Ramone, Nchemo Maile and Lebohang Moreke have been appointed Tourism, Environment and Culture; Agriculture and Food Security and Public Service ministry PSs, according to a statement released by government secretary Lebohang Ramohlanka.

Ms Ramohlanka also announced that ‘Mapulumo Mosisili, who was Trade and Industry PS, is now holding the same position in the Justice Ministry. She swaps positions with Majakathata Mokoena-Thakhisi.

Makalo Theko, who was the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security PS, has been moved to the Prime Minister’s Office.

According to Ms Ramohlanka, the appointments were with immediate effect.

In a brief interview with the Lesotho Times yesterday, Ms Ramohlanka said the appointments were done by Prime Minister Pakalitha Mosisili, but could not say more as she was occupied.

“Yes, the reshuffling and new appointments were done by the Prime Minister himself, having been convinced that these people will serve as mandated,” she said.
