LOCAL dance outfit Dynamite Crew is set to host a charity show at Mabathoana High School Hall on Saturday from 12pm till late.
The event has been organised to raise funds and gather clothes attendees of the show are expected to bring for Malibuseng Children’s Home located in Maseru East. It is also aimed at providing entertainment for the orphans at the shelter.
“Winter is the season in which people need more clothes and the children’s home does not have the resources to buy them enough clothes to keep all of them warm,” Dynamite Crew’s Lerato Ts’eute told the Weekender on Tuesday.
“I personally work with a lot of children’s homes, and during my visits I discovered that Malibuseng has more needs as it gets little help to suffice for their needs.
“Besides that, they are taken care of by an old man who also needs financial assistance and the home is located near Maqalika River where it is very cold.
“With this initiative, we are also appealing to the youth to realise that there are people out there who need their donations in the form of clothes they no longer use and also to visit them on regular basis and have fun together.”
“We have also approached two local businesses, from which we are waiting a response, to donate in any manner they can so that we have more to give to those children,” added Teute.
“The only help we got so far is from Mr Molupe Mothepu who supports our group. He is doing all he can to ensure that this initiative becomes a success.”
Ts’eute further said they had observed that most orphans are not exposed to recreational activities. Thus, as local artistes, whom some of the children look up to, it was befitting for them to organise a show to make the kids’ day.
As well as being transported to the venue of the show, meals will also be available for the children during the event.
Local acts Axo-Mind, Black Ink, CSMIP, SCG, EMF and others will backup Dynamite Crew to entertain the kids for free as their way of giving back to the community.
Miss Lesotho Companies will also make an appearance to inspire those who are passionate about modelling while DJ Switch Jr be behind the decks spinning out the tunes.
The entrance fee for the show is M15. However, a price reduction will be commensurate with what attendees will donate at the event.
