GERMAN disc spinner DJ Jazz will headline a show slated for 26 August 2016 at Barcelos restaurant in Maseru.
Organised by events outfit, Dynamic Transformations, the show is also set to feature Delux Mmino and Do-Me from South Africa’s Best Beats TV.
According to Dynamic Transformations’ Nozipho Nonyana, DJ Jazz performed in Lesotho for the first time last December. DJ Dazz is well known throughout Europe and South Africa for his fusions of House grooves with Rock, Electro, Hip Hop, Funk and Soul Elements.
Best Beats TV is an online platform that privately hosts and streams videos online of up-and-coming disc spinners and mainstream artists. DJ Boots is the only local artist confirmed so far to share the stage with the artists.
Nonyana said the event was a build up to an “epic” show meant to celebrate Lesotho’s 50th independence in October.
“We are going to host an epic event on 3 October to celebrate our golden Independence jubilee,” she said.
“So the show we are hosting on 26 August will give a glimpse of what people can expect during the independence celebration show.”
Nonyana said their intention was also to serve deep House music lovers.
“I am a big fan of deep jazzy House music. However, I realised that most local clubs and events seldom cater for deep House lovers. I believe there are people out there who feel the same way as I do, hence we the decision to cater for them,” she said.
“The independence show will be headlined by an internationally acclaimed House DJ whose identity we will reveal later on. But in the meantime, we intend to hold a couple of build-up shows ahead of the epic one. The number of build-up shows will be determined by the response to this first one.”
