ZAGRO Deejays member, DJ Allegro, has committed his future to the stable despite the recent release of his solo trace, Power.
The track, his debut solo single, was released on 13 July 2018 and the artiste says he is still committed to his partnership with DJ Skizo.
The deck master said the track was released as to hype his upcoming clash with 24 local DJs for 12 hours. The clash has been structured in a way that each set will be 30 mins long.
“I am working on a show which will be held in November where I will be playing one on one with 24 DJs with whom I have worked before so, Power is a promotional track for that event,” DJ Allegro said.
“This song represents the emotional power we long for whenever we are faced with hard times in life. It is also about unleashing that power of DJ Allegro as a brand.
“Although it is my first single, the intention is to release at least four tracks as also part of the build-up. I have worked on Power alone but I plan to work with different vocalists on the upcoming tracks.”
The artiste has of late been aggressively marketing the track online where he sends the track via WhatsApp. He said this was necessitated by the need to be unique.
“Apart from the need to be unique, I also noticed that some websites are not user friendly and listeners find it difficult to download music.”
He said although his music will eventually be accessed through his website www.djallegromusic.com which is currently under maintenance.
DJs Allegro and Skizo have worked together since 2004 under the Zagro Deejays banner and have made waves on different platforms in and outside the country.
In 2016 they were awarded the est Producers award at the Ultimate Music Awards for their single Slega where they featured rappers L-Tore and Nirex. Last year they released their debut album, Unison, which was nominated for multiple accolades at the same awards. Their track Your Groove featuring songbird Miss Jijy was nominated for the Best Collabo, Best Dance and the Song of the Year awards.
“Zagro Deejays is still intact and will be performing in Hlotse on the 28 July 2018. Going solo is all about promoting and celebrating the Allegro brand. Allegro is more about producing songs while Zagro Deejays is more about performances.
“We do not see it as competition. Skizo and our manager support my initiatives and they are even promoting it on Zagro Deejays social media pages. We will also perform as Zagro Deejays during the one on one event,” DJ Allegro said.
