LILAPHALAPHA Productions is set to tickle comedy lovers’ funny bone at the Performing Arts Centre of the Free State (PACOFS) in Bloemfontein, South Africa next Wednesday.
According to Lilaphalapha Managing Director, Bofihla Neko, the performance would be the comedy troupe’s first outside Lesotho, adding that they ecstatic about the opportunity.
“We have never performed in South Africa before, so we feel greatly honoured by PACOFS’s request for us to showcase our craft,” he said.
“While we already know that we have a large fan base in Lesotho and other countries, being recognised and booked by a body as prestigious and big as PACOFS means we are going in the right direction.
“We believe that now is the time to put Lesotho’s comedy on the global map and we are determined to achieve that objective.”
Asked when the fourth installment of their popular Lilaphalapha would be released, Neko said it was too early to tell since it was still in the works.
He added that plans were afoot for a “massive” show next March featuring comedians from Lesotho and beyond.
