LCS coach Shalane Lehohla says it is possible for his charges to end their nine-year trophy drought this season, following their impressive start to the Vodacom Premier League.
Before yesterday’s tie against LDF, Masheshena had maintained a 100 percent winning record and were at the summit of the 16-team league table with nine points.
LCS last won a league title with its back-to-back triumph in the 2010/11 and 2011/12 seasons under Mosholi Mokhothu.
The former Likuena midfielder told the Lesotho Times on Monday that his side has a chance of going all the way to winning the title.
“It is still early yes but it is possible; the boys can go all the way to winning the title,” Lehohla said.
He however, said it is going to take a lot of effort from his players to achieve the fete as it will not come easy.
“Our players must be honest with themselves and follow instructions. When they are told to rest, they must rest because indiscipline will disrupt their form.”
Lehohla took over as head coach from Mpitsa Marai at the beginning of the 2020/21 season but he says little has changed from last season’s team except the injection of confidence and discipline.
“We haven’t made many changes especially the tactical aspects of the game apart from working more on scoring, which has been our problem for years.
“Apart from that, we have only been instilling confidence in the players and making them believe in their abilities. More importantly, we have been working on their discipline because while Lesotho has lots of talent, the problem has been discipline. So, we are trying to make them see life in a different way and understand what is expected of them as footballers.
“We will work on tactics when I am satisfied that the players are focused. For now, let us boost their confidence and play with speed, which has been our strength in the last three matches that we won,” Lehohla said.
