URBAN music group Magic in Progress (MIP) has released a 15-track mix-tape titled Ntlo Kholo.
Ntlo Kholo is a collection of recent recordings put together by the all new MIP roster of artistes such as Kidman blankk, Stevey-E, Kimberley and Pheletso, Jerry Madubela and old faces such as T-Mech, Sthola, Snrd ,Dollaman, Rifle 3 shots, Flix, RMC and Chocolate Soul.
This is the first mix tape by the group this year since their last release the CSMIP trimester compilation Volume III in 2017.
MIP public relations officer Thulo Monyake aka Tmech said the name Ntlo Kholo came about after rebranding MIP and technically starting afresh which inspired the title which can be loosely translated to mean headquarters or a place where most decisions are made.
He said they started working on the 15-track mixtape in September 2017.
“The core of the selection of this new MIP roster was brand value and prior works and as a result, a large chunk of the original MIP team was re-signed while a new group of five solo acts including a drummer Tiido the drum boi, Pheletso, Kimberley Kidman Blankk and Stevey-E joined the team,” Tmech said.
The Mixtape consists of songs such as Senzeni by Sthola featuring Jerry Madubela, Breath by Riffle 3 Shots, Khale by chocolate Soul and Ngoana Mobe by MIP.
T-Mech said singles from the mixtape can be accessed on all their social media pages as well as sharing sites such as Audiomack.com, Justslick23.com and Musicbox.co.ls.
He said some of the songs were available on digital stores but they will have official links for the compilation mid-December when the hard copies are also expected to be available.
T-Mech further told the paper that MIP dissolved the artiste team that had been started in 2013 to create a new team
“In 2017 I stepped down from MIP as the CEO and assigned Jerry Madubela from Spring Lights 1307 in South Africa as the new guy in charge to lead in artiste selection and signing.” Tmech said.
He said he dropped his position for a lower position of public relations officer to ensure he can actively focus on his solo career.
