MASERU — Mekonko Sound Hire will play host to Deep House advocates at Times Café tomorrow.
The event dubbed Ladies Gone Wild Party will have house music musos; House Africa’s Vinny Da Vinci, Metro FM’s T-Deep, Motsumi from Soweto, Thoxie, Harris T and TshepzaDj up against the finest ladies of the turntables Lady Zile who hails all the way from Bloemfontein and Lesotho’s very own superstar DJ DeePee.
“It is that time of the year when club goers are in the mood for outrageous parties and the ladies go wild in response to the irresistible music we play,” Mekonko told the Weekender in an interview on Monday.
“It is going to be a night of bliss with all the glitz and glamour. Everyone is expected to be dressed up to the nines so we can together dance the night away on this first Friday of December.
“It is no secret that I am so deeply in love and influenced by House music which is what the show is all about.
“I have integrated those deejays that have been in the game for more than a decade but still manage to release club bangers to this very day,” he said.
Vinny Da Vinci told the Weekender on Monday, that he is excited to be visiting Lesotho once again.
“I find Lesotho to be a great place and people here know just how to party and appreciate good music.
“Although it will be my first time in Lesotho this year, I still believe I am going to get that warm reception I experienced before and I am looking forward to Friday (tomorrow).”
Adding to Vinny’s statement, T-Deep said: “Lesotho’s nightlife is so wonderful and I can’t wait to get behind those decks. I promise people the best of Deep House but this time on another level.”
Mekonko’s events have grown steadily over the past years.
He said detractors were trying to make the show a flop by removing the posters from the streets of Maseru.
Nevertheless, Mekonko said he was doing all in his power to ensure that the success of the previous shows would be surpassed again by working mainly on the top-class line-up and an optimised reception for everyone.
